Garam Masala

I suppose you can buy this, but it in no way replicates the flavor and aroma of making your own...

Remember this should be hot so pretend your the devil and it is up to you to punish these 10 dried chilis and various other ingredients like cinnamon, curry leaves, cloves etc.

dry roast spice mixture till spices darken slightly and become incredibly fragrant. Allow to cool.

Then punish them some more by grinding them up and putting them in an air tight jar. Store in a cool dark place. Yum!

Leftovers

When your brother comes over, and there's nothing to eat,
You just have to make do...

Pull apart some of the boneless pork ribs that are in the fridge,
Top with some of the coleslaw that's just laying around,
And you've got yourself a pretty decent lunch.

"romantic chocolate truffles"

"for a deceptively simple but luxurious tasting treat, try this recipe for truffles"

1/3 cup heavy cream
6 oz. dark chocolate finely chopped (or mini chocolate chips)
2 tbsp softened butter
unsweetened cocoa powder

1. Bring cream to a boil and poor over chocolate. Wait one minute then whisk until the mixture is smooth and shiny. Whisk in the butter completely; cover and refrigerate for 3 hours or until firm.

2. Scoop out teaspoonfuls of chocolate, squeeze them and roll them between your palms to form cherry-sized balls.

3. Roll the truffles around in a bowl of cocoa, then toss them from hand to hand to shake off excess. Cover and refrigerate until ready to eat. Warning! do not eat too many! They're very rich!

4. lick fingers

Strawberry Madness

Pepper Steak

Matt, Mike, and I decided to grill some steaks last night. And while this may not be a "little" pepper, we all enjoy ourselves a little pepper!

We crusted the Tri Tips with black pepper and Chipotle flakes. Served them up with some Spicy Thai potato chips, roasted Anaheim Chiles, and greenbeans. It was pretty dang good.

Twilight

Okay, well the other day we watched the movie Twilight. We hadn't read the books or anything like that, just wanted to see what the big deal was with the movie. Apparently the big deal was Rainier beer in the 16 oz. cans. And cleaning guns while drinking it. It's like, in the movie a lot, and the best part of the movie too. So, we had to go to several stores to find it, but find it we did. Then David had to clean his Nerf guns (I know, what a goof) while drinking Rainier beer. It's naturally brewed and made with Yakima valley hops you know...
